BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN (BHT)

Position Overview

As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), you will work directly with children and families, providing individualized behavioral support as outlined in treatment plans. You will be an essential part of the care team, helping children build coping skills, achieve goals, and thrive in their home, school, and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one behavioral interventions based on treatment plans
  • Support children in building coping, social, and emotional skills
  • Assist caregivers in implementing positive behavior strategies
  • Collect and document behavioral data to track progress
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and treatment team members
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to both child and family

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required (some college coursework in psychology, education, or related field preferred)
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable
  • Ability to complete required training and clearances (background checks, TB test, etc.)

Schedule & Work Environment
